Twin Cam (Softail & Dyna models)
Beginning production in 1999, the Harley Twin Cam engine is available in 88 ci (1450 cc), 95 ci (1550 cc), 96 ci (1584 cc), 103 ci (1690 cc) and 110 ci. (1,801 cc). The Twin Cam follows on from the Evo motor, which was used through the 80’s and 90’s with huge success.
The Harley Davidson Twin Cam models are available in 2 frame types: The Dyna & Softail.
The Dyna uses twin shock rear suspension, but was discontinued in 2017.
The Softail uses rear suspension which resembles a classic hardtail frame, and is the frame used for most Twin Cam models today. Softail models use the FLS prefix, while the Dyna uses the FX prefix.
